Need to look up magazines such as CR to get inspiration for good design. She how other designers have used line, tone and colour to maximise the quality of the design.


Look for books on how to express emotion though different angles on objects, this may help me give the "i" it's own identity.


look up well know newspapers that advertise in a clear well designed manner e.g. the guardian/the economist. See what they do and why it works well. Is it mainly type or image based?


Look though graphics books such as Graphic Design since 1950, The American Art book, and other books on expressionism to get a flavour of different styles and see what could work for this project.

• Television 

Look at the TV adverts promoting the "i" at the minute.
What points are they highlighting most?
What language/tone of voice are they using.
Look up how other newspapers are advertising on the TV

• Website

Look at their webpage and see how they are using it at the min
Do they have a Facebook/Twitter page?
How could they promote this better?

• Find Stag typeface

It states in the brief that we must use "stag" typeface when designing our work so I need to find it asap.

• Thesaurus 

Try to find words starting with "i" which could be use to describe the paper.
